We spent months building tickers, indices, news desks, and dual-IPO mythology. Sign-ups stayed at zero. The useful turn was smaller and closer to home: a place dossier for Sarika, Nakhon Nayok — a frame of reference you can feel, not another blog mood of the day.

What was not working
PolitiCap is a civic market: politician tickers, virtual dibs (DutchBud play credits), indices, and house news agencies. The product vision is large — global boards, ECN nodes, spectacle listings. Hard promotion without a first human session produced attention, not accounts.
Cold outreach to distant celebrities and abstract “join the IPO” language did not create trust. A clever tape with an empty room still feels empty.
The local turn
The better lead was never a global name. It was local office and local memory — the scale where a face still means something to neighbours. In Thailand that includes the long story of the kamnan and today’s Or Bor Tor / tambon institutions. In Sarika we already had a human relationship with local leadership. That is distribution money cannot buy.
And the real first audience was not “prediction-market Twitter.” It was family: someone who would open a link because it felt like home, and might forward it on Line — history and nostalgia first, play-money board second.
Design we locked
- Scopes, not posts: Thailand → Nakhon Nayok → Mueang → Sarika. Parents orient; only the leaf gets the full “I’m home” treatment.
- Dossier, not blog: fixed sections (arrive, senses, local office continuity, memory cards, quiet board peek). Same URL improves over time.
- Public teaser → sign-in for depth: the emotional hit stays public so sharing works. Album, long office lineage, and the local board unlock after free account.
- Thai first on the place page (draft — family proofread next). English secondary. Product jargon stays light on the hero.
What you can open today
The Sarika teaser includes breadcrumb scopes, a hero mood image (placeholder until family photos land), arrive + senses, a short kamnan/local-office arc, three memory cards, a muted civic-board peek, and a sign-in call to read more.
Parent stubs exist so the chain is walkable from Places · Thailand.
What comes next
- Family proofread of Thai; real Sarika photos
- Member full view: album, extended office thread, contribute/correct
- Quiet local board symbols under the same scope path
- Only then: a careful conversation with local office about fairness of the portrait — not a sales pitch
PolitiCap remains a play-money civic market, not a broker and not an election ad. The Sarika dossier is the front door that feels like a house key.
