PolitiCap is easy to misread as a pure political battle site — a scoreboard for winners and losers. That is only the loud edge of what we are building.
Politics is life. It is not a channel you switch off after the debate. It is the quiet architecture of ordinary days: who gets a school place, which road is paved, how long the clinic wait is, whether a market stall can open, and whose memory of a hometown still has a page.
We need contributors who want to document their place — or help maintain an existing place page such as Sarika, Washington, D.C., or Beijing. Place dossiers are home frames first; the civic board comes second.
Politics is life — not only campaign season
When people say “I’m not political,” they usually mean they dislike party theatre. Fair. But politics still reaches into the kitchen table. A short list — incomplete on purpose:
Schools and childhood. Curricula, catchment lines, and language of instruction decide what a child is allowed to become before they can vote.
Streets, housing, and markets. Zoning, rent rules, and market permits shape whether a neighbourhood stays a place to live or becomes a corridor people only pass through.
Care and health. Hospitals, insurance rules, and elder care are political decisions wearing white coats. Families feel them long before they appear as a headline about a minister.
Memory and belonging. Who is named on a plaque, which waterfall story is told, which lane keeps its nickname — that is politics too: the politics of attention. PolitiCap Places exists so that attention can attach to a real road home, not only to a global ticker.
Other threads are just as close: work and migration papers, water and power, privacy and phones, the bus that does or does not come. Politics is life because life is where power lands.
What we are asking for
- Place chroniclers — people with nostalgia and accuracy for a hometown, district, or capital ward.
- Maintainers — help correct Thai/English/Chinese copy, swap mood photos for real family or street photos, and keep local office threads honest.
- Gentle editors — not spin doctors. The frame is a house key, not a campaign ad.

The game layer — WORLD, dibs, politician tickers — stays available when you are ready. It is not the front door. The front door is a place you can recognize.
