Pezeshkian to Jetten: US must honour commitments before dialogue

Masoud Pezeshkian, president of Iran, told Dutch prime minister Rob Jetten on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly in New York that Tehran remains open to dialogue — if Washington honours its commitments.

The remarks, carried by Tasnim News Agency, frame diplomacy as conditional: Iran will talk, Pezeshkian said, but only if the United States stops turning talks into a trap that “derailed the diplomatic process and ultimately led to war.” He said Iran had defended itself when that happened.
